Job Description

At Truepill, we power the future of consumer healthcare. We started in 2016 with a vision to modernize healthcare. We provide the building blocks needed to launch and scale world-class healthcare experiences.

With millions of prescriptions shipped and millions of patients served, we work with many of the world’s largest healthcare organizations - including payers, providers, life sciences companies, consumer health brands, and government agencies. And with new partners continually joining our mission, we aim to further shape the future of healthcare - one patient at a time. Come join us. Let’s build something great together.

We’re looking for an experienced Director, Business Development to join our Growth team.

As a Director, Business Development, you will be responsible for driving sustainable business growth for Truepill's Patient Services offerings within the payer market through new client acquisition, account expansion, and execution of strategic partnerships. As a sales leader, you will build and manage a pipeline of opportunities with national and regional healthcare payers, develop comprehensive sales strategies, and close complex, high-value deals. You will collaborate across departments to identify new market opportunities, use Truepill's offerings to solve customer needs, lead customer negotiations, and achieve financial targets while building long-term client relationships.
Why You'll Love Working at Truepill...
  • We are collaborators – The backbone of Truepill is our people. We support each other by listening and evolving together to make our goals attainable.
  • We are curious – We never settle for how it’s done today. We invent how it will be done tomorrow. Because we don’t just ask “why?”, we ask “why not?”.
  • We are innovators – We’re the spark that ignites positive change in healthcare. We create impact because we don’t anticipate; we innovate.
  • We are honest – Leading with integrity is the foundation of trust. We always do what’s best for our people, our customers, and above all, our patients.
  • We are committed to supporting employees’ happiness, health, and overall well-being - We offer a variety of PTO plans and comprehensive benefits for both our remote and onsite employees.

You're excited about this opportunity because...

  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams - particularly Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Finance - working directly with key stakeholders to ensure business development initiatives align with overall company objectives.
  • You will identify high-value clients and evaluate business opportunities through both strategic management of inbound leads and targeted outbound lead generation to drive revenue and profitability.
  • You will lead contract negotiations throughout the lifecycle of a business deal with a focus on the execution of complex business agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • You will analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, regulatory shifts and other industry developments to inform strategic decision-making.
  • You will drive innovation and creativity in exploring new revenue streams and business models.
  • You will provide strategic guidance and leadership to the business development team, fostering a culture of excellence and achievement.
  • You will represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and other events to enhance brand visibility and build business relationships.

We're excited about you because...

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.
  • You have 4+ years of experience in business development, sales, management consulting or commercial strategy within the healthcare and/or technology sectors
  • You have direct experience and a proven track record of success selling solutions and services within the healthcare payer market.
  • You possess a strong understanding and up-to-date knowledge of market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and emerging trends in the healthcare sector, including Medicare Advantage, Star ratings, HEDIS, and other quality measures.
  • You have exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  • You are a strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives.
  • You have an analytical mindset with proficiency in financial modeling, market analysis, and risk assessment.
  • You have a results-oriented approach with a focus on driving business growth and achieving measurable outcomes.
